Although the Central and Eastern Gateways of Bilkent University have been both planned using similar architectonic elements, due to the lack of space and their relative importance, the designs have been different. Both gateways have been conceieved as dignified ceremonial plazas worthy of Bilkent University’s reputation, where visitors are met and may be asked to wait if necessary. The use of flag poles and arcades add to the spatial quality and overall atmosphere. These gateways have not been built yet.
